As someone who has called Prince Edward County home for years, I’ve learned that wine tasting isn’t always about what ends up in your glass. Sometimes it’s about where you’re standing when you take that first sip.

The County is blessed with rolling vineyards, limestone-rich farmland, Lake Ontario shorelines, and some surprisingly scenic hidden corners that can make you forget you’re only a couple of hours from Toronto.

Of course, the wine is fantastic. But let’s be honest. There are a handful of wineries where the scenery competes for your attention, and occasionally wins.

Here are my picks for the Prince Edward County wineries with the most Beautiful Winery Views.

1. Waupoos Estates Winery

Best Overall View

Best Overall View

If you ask me which winery offers the most breathtaking scenery in Prince Edward County, Waupoos Estates gets the nod.

Perched along the shores of Prince Edward Bay, this winery combines vineyards, apple orchards, and waterfront vistas into one unforgettable landscape. Add a patio lunch with a glass of County Chardonnay, and you’ll quickly understand why visitors regularly rave about the view. Guests frequently mention the dining room and patio overlooking both the vineyards and the lake.

What makes it special:

  • Waterfront vineyard setting
  • Beautiful patio dining
  • Incredible sunset views
  • Great photography opportunities

Local Tip: Visit during golden hour when the sun reflects off the bay and the vineyard rows seem to glow.

2. Karlo Estates

Best Vineyard Walk

Best Vineyard Walk

Many visitors know Karlo Estates for being Canada’s first certified vegan winery, but what often gets overlooked is one of the prettiest walks in the County.

The property features a peaceful vineyard trail leading to an attractive stone bridge, creating a surprisingly tranquil escape beyond the tasting room. The winery itself occupies a beautifully restored historic barn and expansive estate grounds.

This is one of those wineries where I always recommend spending extra time exploring rather than simply doing a tasting and moving on.

What makes it special:

  • Scenic vineyard walking trail
  • Charming stone bridge
  • Historic barn setting
  • Perfect for leisurely strolls

Local Tip: Bring your camera. The bridge and vineyard combination makes for some of the best social media photos in the County.

3. Keint-he Winery & Vineyards

Best Elevated Lake View

Keint-he offers something many County wineries don’t: an elevated perspective overlooking Lake Ontario.

The approach feels quiet and understated, but once you’re on the property, you’ll understand why visitors fall in love with the location. The panoramic views create a sense of openness that’s difficult to find elsewhere in the region.

What makes it special:

  • Sweeping lake views
  • Quiet atmosphere
  • Stunning countryside scenery
  • Less crowded than many popular wineries

4. Huff Estates Winery

Best Art Meets Nature

Best Art Meets Nature

Huff Estates delivers far more than vineyards.

Between the winery, the adjacent Oeno Gallery, sculpture gardens, and beautifully maintained grounds, the property feels like a blend of wine country and an outdoor art exhibit. Visitors can easily spend an afternoon wandering the estate while enjoying views across the vineyards.

  • Vineyard views
  • Outdoor sculptures
  • Art gallery on-site
  • Elegant estate atmosphere

5. The Grange of Prince Edward

Best Classic County Vineyard View

When people picture Prince Edward County wine country, they’re often imagining something very similar to The Grange.

  • Expansive vineyard landscapes

  • Excellent photo opportunities

7. By Chadsey’s Cairns

What makes it special:

  • Historic farm setting

The wonderful thing about Prince Edward County wine touring is that every winery offers a different perspective on the landscape. Some showcase endless vineyard rows. A few surprise you with art installations, historic barns, or hidden walking trails.

I have taken a few friends and family who were first-time visitors on a “best views” wine tour; my itinerary would look like this:

Morning: Karlo Estates for the vineyard walk and stone bridge.

Lunch: Waupoos Estates for waterfront dining.

Afternoon: Huff Estates and Closson Chase for the art and popularity.

Sunset: Keint-he Winery overlooking Lake Ontario.

That’s a combination that’s hard to beat and proof that sometimes the best pairing in Prince Edward County isn’t wine and cheese. It’s wine and a spectacular view.
