What Does Glamping Stand For?
Glamping stands for “Glamourous” and Camping. Put both together and you have glamping.
This means you go camping but in a more comfortable and luxurious and glamorous setting like a hotel room.
The “Glam” part means having amenities like furniture, kitchenware, electricity, lighting, a coffee maker, or even a hot tub.
Of course, the “ping” refers to the second part of camping where we are outside in the wilderness with an open fire.
What is Glamping?
Glamping is a type of camping that is more luxurious and comfortable than traditional camping.
While most people camp in the traditional sense, outdoors with a tent and sleeping bag this would be considered “roughing it”.
Glamping is staying outdoors with many more comforts than you would find in a hotel.
These comforts will often include a bed, blankets, pillows, furniture, carpets, lighting, and a coffee maker as some sites even have electricity.
It usually involves renting a fully-furnished tent or yurt, and it often takes place in rural or natural settings.
