An Italian winery in the heart of Prince Edward County, Terra Estates Winery is a boutique producer of some of Canada’s finest hand-crafted wines.

If your coming from Toronto this winery is located in the North West section of the county and you will drive right past Lakeside Dr in Consecon on highway 33 heading south.

The Tasting Room

We spoke about wine for a bit when we first arrived and the server offered us the following suggestions.

Terra Estate Refosco – A bolder red with a hit of spice and berries.

Terra Pinot Grigio – Aromas of green apple, and melon with hints of wildflowers.

Terra Pinot Noir – A beautiful red wine, light with a tannin finish.

Terra Cabernet Franc – A nice light spice done the Cabernet Franc way.

Terra Viognier – Aromas of floral and fruit

The winery’s tasting room is small but we were the only couple in there at the time. There are tables and chairs to sample the unique qualities and tastes of the area’s vineyards.

At Terra Estates Winery, the focus is on creating wines of the highest quality which was clear during our tasting.

Our server told us they only use the finest grapes grown and sorted from the winery’s own planted vineyard.

Finest Hand Crafted Quality

The vineyard produces relatively small quantities, which allows Terra’s winemaker to pay close attention to every detail of the wine-making process, resulting in wines of exceptional taste and character.

The Terra Pinot Gris is $10 a bottle.

The Terra Cabernet Franc is $15 a bottle.

The friendly and knowledgeable staff took us on a tour of the winery, showing us the vineyards and explaining the wine-making process.

They also provided us with a guided tasting of the winery’s wines, which was a wonderful opportunity to learn about the flavors and aromas of each variety.
