Mom and Pop family restaurant with great portions and low prices.
Great for takeout. Food is always consistent and hot when they serve it.
They offer Chinese food, wraps, and an excellent breakfast.
Two people can eat supper for under $40 making it one of our favorite places.
The Lighthouse Restaurant $$

Amazing breakfast and brunch restaurant with a patio.
Right in Picton Harbor, it’s an excellent place to eat.

Amazing taste and flavors in every sharable dish.

This seafood restaurant has a seafood market in the front.
The oysters are just amazing and fresh but my favorite dish is the surf and turf.
It’s a bit expensive but the seafood is fresh and prepared very well.
The Vic Drive-In Café $$

The only Drive-in Breakfast, Brunch, and Lunch, experience in Picton.
Famous for the Tater Tots and my suggestion is the breakfast poutine!
They offer live music through the summer and weekly specials.
They have a colorful, covered patio outside.
The County Canteen $$

LIVE music and great food and $5 Caesars on Sundays.
Very large selection of beer on taps and regional wines.
The brisket sandwich is my go-to but they have a chicken sandwich called “Too Fat to Fly” and it’s awesome.
Went for lunch and had poutine with real curds and thick gravy.
Has the biggest beer list that features more than just a local selection of drinks.
The Acoustic Grill $$
Located: 172 Picton Main St, Picton, ON – Phone: (613) 476-2887.
Small cozy pub with live music and great food.
Probably “THE BEST” chicken wings in Picton.
You can order local craft beer, cider, and wine.
I recommend the “Acoustic Jam” burger with extras.
One of our favorite places for great food and live music.
Hartley’s Tavern $$$
Located: 19 Elizabeth St, Prince Edward, ON – Phone: (613) 476-8888.
They open later in the afternoon so reservations are recommended.
Fine dining and great ambiance. There are not any menu items that are not delicious.
We like starting with the oysters and the lobster rolls.
You can order mains or choose the three-course dinner with a few options to choose from.
I’d recommend the Grilled Hanger Steak from the Main section of the menu. Fabulous!
The price is fair for an upscale dining experience.
The outside patio stays open late into the season but there are heaters to keep you warm.
The Marans $$$
Located:165 Picton Main St, Picton, ON – Phone: (613) 920 1195.
Opens late so I’d suggest making reservations. Also, it’s a bit small inside so seating is limited.
Classy place with some great food done right in my books.
The truffle salted NY strip is a gem for the $40 price tag.
The shiitake mushroom risotto is another recommendation you should try.
They have Crème brûlée too which is hard to find in Picton.
7 Numbers $$

Italian cuisine with a southern Italy twist.
The ambiance inside is very nice.
The patio during the warmer months is nice but it’s small and cozy.
Merrill House $$$
Located: Picton Main St E #343, Picton, ON – Phone: (866) 567-5969.
Set in an old Victorian home the Merrill House offers an intimate dining experience.
Gourmet breakfasts each we were there. Very Very Good! Great staff and service, highly recommend.
You pay for how many courses 3 Courses $105, 4 Courses $135, 5 Courses $165.
They offer local wine pairing as well.
Try the Enright Farms Simmental Beef Tenderloin paired with Sandbanks Red Banco noir.
Prince Edward Pizza $$

One of the very first Pizzerias in Picton. Great deals and great prices for Pizza in Picton.
Offer a large pizza, bread sticks, and Salad for around $29.
The toppings are always generous and of good quality but the best part is always the crust.

Late-night food rescue! Open usually really late on weekends.
Combination pizza and some medium buffalo wings you just can’t go wrong.
The food is great and we have tried many different things from their menu and have never been disappointed.
You can order food at 2 am and they still deliver.

A microbrewery right on the main street with amazing wood-fired pizza and Pretzels.
The theme is worth checking out as it tells the story of a Picton hanging many years ago.
The owners “Rock” and it is always fun to hang out there I’m part of their mug club!

Lots of room to eat but they do a lot of takeouts. Sweet and Sour Pork is amazing.
Angry Birds Rotisserie Chicken $$

The Thunder crunch beats KFC hands down.
There is also a half chicken dinner that is great.
The menu is a bit limited but it is a roadside chicken rotisserie.
Every visit there I find the staff very friendly.
The food is delicious and the portions are large.

When you’re looking to leave Picton for a bite to eat there are some really cool places to check out.

One of my favorite Prince Edward County Restaurants because it’s close to where we live.
Oysters are excellent!
Some great seafood selections are great!
It’s fast and it’s reasonable.
The Restaurant on the Knoll $$
Located: 1642 County Rd 12, Prince Edward, ON – Phone (613) 393-2063.
Definitely has a great view and a patio on the beach. I’d say one of the 25 best patios to eat at in Prince Edward County.
They offer sharable platters that you also may like.
If you like seafood then I recommend trying the Seafood Linguine with fresh mussels, and tiger shrimp on crab sauce Linguine for $36.

Baileys Casual Dining $$
Located: 314 County Rd 10, Picton, ON – Phone: (613) 476-7187.
A local favorite and has great prices.
Only open until 2 pm and they have a small patio.
Most people go here for breakfast which is amazing but they have a full menu.
They have “All Day Breakfast“.
You can order wraps, fish and chips, burgers, and all types of sandwiches.
Parsons Brewing Company $$
Located: 876 County Rd 49, Picton, ON – Phone: (613) 476-9977.
A brewery with food and a very large dog-friendly outside seating area.
I suggest the fried chicken, but I’ll warn you there are no sides only what you order.
You can purchase local beer, cider, wine, and other goods from here in the county.

Bantam $$

In the heart of wine country and a great stop while on a wine tour.
It’s more of a wine bar but they do offer a small menu with some great eats.
It’s a small place and can get busy but the service is always great.
Strato’s Pizzeria & Restaurant $$

Excellent Pizza. They offer Greek favorites like souvlaki and spanakopita with good prices to match.
SUJEO $$
Located: 172 Picton Main St unit 104, Prince Edward, ON. Phone: (613) 476-2125.
The first Korean restaurant in Picton ever. Authentic Korean menu with spice and everything.
Great bibimbap, dumplings, and beef but my favorite is the galbi and bulgogi.
The Inn at Lake on the Mountain $$
Located: 286 County Rd 7, Prince Edward, ON – Phone: (613) 476-1321.
Sit on the patio at Lake on the mountain.
It gets a bit breezy some days but it’s a beautiful place for lunch or dinner.
We take out-of-town guests here a lot.

Live music on the weekend as local bands play here.
Great pub fare including wings and fish and chips.
The French Onion soup is fabulous and very filling. Reasonably priced.

Waupoos Estates Winery & Restaurant $$$

Great views of Lake Ontario. Farm-to-table gourmet food inside or on the patio.
Lots of room inside and out. The breakfast is spectacular.
They have a candy store inside!
The cool thing here is the menu has fixed prices. One of the only restaurants in Prince Edward County with a fixed menu.
You can purchase a 3-course lunch at one cost of $55/person.

Cheese and cracker plates go well with the local wine…Just saying!

The incredible food menu of woodfire cooking. If you chose to go try the “Chefs Menu” for $95.
I was told by many friends to try it and I’m so glad I did. This is a great special occasion night out.

A popular place for locals with the best burgers in town.
They have an amazing cheeseburger.
I’ve never seen a bigger chicken sandwich in my life.

They have seating inside and a small patio outside.
They have local wines, beer, and ciders. The ribs were delicious.
My wife had the crab roll sandwich and said it was made with real crab meat. She loved it.

Our favorite restaurant in Wellington.
We usually stop here while on a wine tour as the food is excellent.
The portions are huge, and the price is very reasonable. The lobster dip is amazing.
This is one of my favorite things to do in Wellington.
Midtown Brewing $$

Microbrewery with some great food. The least expensive brewery I’ve been to.
Seating inside and outside. The burger is great and comes with tons of fries.
Drake Devonshire Inn $$$
Located: 24 Wharf St, Wellington, ON – Phone: (613) 399-3338.
A lovely stylish restaurant hotel with a great view of Lake Ontario.
Right downtown and close to everything. The food is perfect every time.
Most of the seating inside or out on the patio has a great view.
The eggs benedict is amazing. There are open mic and live music sessions there often.

Lakeshore Motel $$$

Close to downtown. Really nice patio with an excellent view of Lake Ontario.
The food is excellent and the service is friendly.
They have a pool so you can have lunch and hang out for a swim. I come here for late afternoon dinners.
Oysters are a bit pricey compared to other restaurants in Wellington but the food is worth it.
Flossie’s Sandwiches $$

Growing in popularity and they have great outside seating now.
The menu is limited but the food is excellent.
Try Carson’s Serendipity sandwich, it’s amazing.
East and Main Bistro $$

Opens late in the afternoon at 5 pm. Locally sourced ingredients with local craft beer, wine, and cider.
A popular place for locals. A small place with gourmet meals. They have a small patio.
Idle Wild $$
Located 305 Wellington Main St, Wellington, ON – Phone: (613) 399-3334.
Just found out about this place and am glad I did. They serve Asian food.
I tried the pork and Kimchi which was spicey and nice.
We sat out on the deck, which is small, but it wasn’t busy anyway. They do offer to take out so you eat just down the street at Wellington Park.
Saigon Restaurant $$

This is a Vietnamese Take Out ONLY home-cooked service.
You should pre-order one day ahead to make sure you can get on the list.
They took my order when I called on the same day but warned me I was lucky as they had enough food prepared.
The food is made in small batches and is “Excellent”.
If you’re planning on coming to Wellington preorder one day in advance.
They offer combo plates. I order a day ahead then pick it up and take it to the picnic tables in Wellington Park.
Koenji Whisky Bar $$

Yes, they serve amazing single-match whisky from all over the world.
They offer a limited menu with some excellent small dishes.
Nothing on the menu is over $18. I had chicken wings and Shrimp and noodles.
GOOD Place $$

This is a health food café with vegan options.
Nothing on the menu is over $12.
They offer healthy smoothies also.
Excellent vegan restaurant.
La Condesa $$

A popular Mexican restaurant. Small menu with everything under $12.
Excellent braised beef tacos. I also tried the Pollo Asado Tacos with the grilled chicken, and you should too.
What is The Taste Trail?
The Taste Trail in Prince Edward County is a list of locations where you can try different foods.
You’ll visit a list of local wineries, craft breweries, cider houses, and restaurants throughout the county that offer either a small or extensive menu.
Most places will also serve food from Charcuterie boards, Wood oven-fired Pizza, or menu items so you can enjoy some amazing scenery and a meal.
Just follow the signs…well actually a map would help.

Countylicious is popular here in the county. It happens twice annually and offers you a pre-fixed menu from some of the best restaurants in the county.

I strongly recommend calling ahead and making reservations as many places have limited seating and they fill up fast.
