How to Explain Parsons Brewery Picton to a Five-Year-Old
Parsons Brewery Craft Beer Giant
One of the first local craft beers I ever had was from Parsons. I remember the big brown bottles and the string name tags they put on them.
This was the cool stuff at the start of the craft beer era in Prince Edward County.
If you talk with Chris and Samantha Parsons or any of the friendly staff you’ll know why the Brewery is steadily growing in popularity.
In fact, the place is packed every time we go there all summer long, and for good reason too!
Where is Parsons Brewery in Picton?
Parsons Brewery is located just outside of Picton at 876 County Road 49, Parsons always seems to be busy there. That’s about 5 min outside of downtown Picton going east. If you’re coming from highway 401 then it’s around 15 min South. The main reason we visit Parsons Brewery is the fact that it’s close to downtown Picton.
Why is Parsons Popular?
The theme is an old farm brewery that reminds you of western days. They actually restored two historic buildings they moved to their property here in the county. These are the main building where the tap room and bottling sales are located.
Each glass and bottle of beer has a horseshoe on them. Coincidentally there is a horseshoe pit outside too!
They do have a very large selection of craft beers on tap and the food has to be the main reason they have become so popular, is my guess.
Whenever I talk craft beer and Picton, in a conversation, Parsons always gets mentioned.
Outside is a large area for sitting and there are games available for you too. You can bring your children as there are things for them to do as well.
With picnic tables scattered there is an expansive beer garden and a nice covered patio area they use for ice skating in the winter.
I really like the big fire pit they have although it was 12 pm and we were there for lunch so it wasn’t going. But I’ll bet it’s awesome to sit around in the evenings.
I see now they are starting to grow Hops there too on the huge property.
They have local merchants there selling their goods and often host big events. They certainly have the room to host vendors who sell everything from soap to pickles to popcorn to honey and more.
Parsons Brewery Food
Parson has an outdoor kitchen with a great selection of food.
There is a bottle shop inside where you can pick up some of Parson’s gear and some ice-cold craft beer.
The last time we were there, we ordered the “Picada plate” that had a selection of cheese, meat, and bread. I paired it with a Milk Stout and it was delicious.
Parsons Brewery Menu
Parsons brewery’s menu offers small dish snack items like cheese and crackers but also bigger meal options like their “Farm Burger”. I ordered at least three times from the menu including oysters, grilled tiger prawns, and the Pallo Al Carbon which is grilled chicken done perfectly.
All the guests I have seen seemed to be enjoying the delicious food.
Here’s a quick look at a section of the current menu for 2022. Keep in mind they have a kids’ menu also.

Parsons brewery is one of the many breweries in Prince Edward County that are dog friendly. Dogs are allowed in both the indoor and outdoor areas of the brewery.
There is also a designated area for dogs to play and socialize. The Parsons brewery is a great place to bring your dog because you can enjoy a beer while your dog enjoys the company of other dogs.

This trend is beneficial for both dog owners and breweries because it allows people to enjoy their favorite beers while still being able to spend time with their furry friends.
Additionally, this trend helps to promote responsible alcohol consumption by providing a safe and controlled environment for people to drink with their dogs.
