This place is a casual dining hub for locals because it’s a one-stop shop for breakfast, lunch, and dinner seven days a week.
What sets them apart from the rest of the Picton restaurants?
Well, for one, their specialty dishes of souvlaki and Chinese food are the perfect blend of Eastern and Canadian cuisine!
We frequently drop by for sandwiches, poutine, chicken dinners, dessert, or just drinks and I’ve got to say, it was one of the most delicious experiences for shut a low price!

So here are my main 4 reasons to go to this Picton restaurant.
1. Prince Edward County Chinese Food
The Island Family restaurant does offer Chinese food now and it’s very good for Prince Edward County.
Nope, you don’t need reservations and customers can order ahead by phone or online through the website.
Many of my friends say it’s the best in Picton but I’d say Wellington has some great Chinese food too!.
The last few times I’ve been there they were only offering take out only.
They have all the traditional menu items and include my favorite…Egg Rolls.
2. The Charm of The Island Family Restaurant
Firstly, the ambiance is spot on for a laid-back dining atmosphere. What caught my eye right away was the striking wall mural painted with bright colors that depict an island vibe.
You can choose to sit indoors if you want a more intimate setting or take a seat outside if you fancy some downtown views.
Either way, the staff is friendly and quick to attend to your coffee or needs, so you’ll don’t have to wait long.
3. The Food is Great
Now, let’s get to the good stuff, the food! Don’t let the fusion menu intimidate you as the dishes are true gems of flavor and expertise.
The souvlaki platters are a must-try, especially the chicken and pork options. The meat is generously portioned, marinated to perfection, and grilled to a scrumptious goodness.
Pair it with a side of Greek salad or rice, and you’ll be satisfied! If you’re feeling like having a Chinese feast, the fried rice dishes and chow mein are tasty options.
