The Garage Time Brewing Company is a small-batch brewery located in Wellington, Prince Edward County. The company was founded in 2014 by a local couple (Joanne & Bernard Bennett) that run this brewery out of their garage.

The nicest couple, serving delicious beer, and both share a passion for craft beer.

One thing that was clear, Garage Time Brewing Company is committed to producing high-quality beers that showcase the best of Canadian brewing traditions.

We found that the experience was like no other local craft brewery in Prince Edward County. It really is like having a beer with a friend in the garage with great tunes playing.

Garage Time Brewing Beer

GTA (Garage Time Ale)

The brewery’s flagship beer is the GTA (Garage Time Ale). This is a nice light golden ale that is 4.2 ABV. Garage Time also produces a variety of seasonal and limited-edition beers.

Margarita Goose – Limited – WOW it’s Good!

They perfected a Margarita Goose craft beer that was just amazing. This sour beer made with lime totally blew me away.

They gave us a free sample and told us this limited-time beer sold out fast.

The good news…there is a new batch being made on the day we visited.

County Cascade IPA

Finally, an IPA that’s not over the top hoppy. It’s a strong beer with 6% ABV but only a 5 IBU.

India Pale Ales are known for their strong hop flavor, but not everyone enjoys the bitterness that comes with it. I enjoy less hoppy IPAs and this is one.

The hops add bitterness to the beer, so a lower level will result in a less bitter taste.

Clearly, the County Cascade IPA has a low IBU (bitterness units) rating. This number indicates how bitter the beer is, so a lower IBU means a less hoppy flavor.

Other IPAs I’ve tried are just naturally less hoppy than others as part of the recipe.

If you’re looking for a less bitter IPA like this County Cascade IPA, try one of these styles: English IPA, Belgian IPA, or Session IPA.

This IPA was refreshing and delicious.

Hazelnut Stout

A Light, dry stout with a hazelnut finish. If you’re a stout drinker do try this one. I found it lightly carbonated with some slight bitterness.

Hazelnut stout is a type of stout beer that is brewed with hazelnuts of course. Although hazelnuts are a type of nut that grows on trees and are often used in baking and cooking they can be added to craft beer.

The hazelnuts give this stout a light nutty flavor and aroma. Bernard did not overdo it so the stout came out great.

Like most this hazelnut stout has the typical dark color and a rich, creamy texture.

I think this stout may just be found year-round at Garage Time Brewing.

The Hodge Podge Ale

This is also a popular craft beer with many visitors and I’ve seen lots of reviews about it. Many people like this one. It’s made with

Garage Time also offers a rotating selection of guest tap beers.

This is a real garage with a craft brewery set up inside!

The Garage Time Brewing Music is Awesome

I just have to mention the music. There is 80’s music playing in the background that was very nostalgic for us. Reminded me of when we used to hang out and have drinks listing to our favorite songs in high school.

There is an old 8-track player with a few 8-tracks ready to go.

Garage Time Brewing Hours

The taproom at Garage Time is open Wednesday to Sunday from 12 pm – 6 pm closing at 5 pm on Sundays. It gets really busy through the summer so get there early.

I highly recommend stopping in for a beer! I might even see you there!
