The Grapes of Hillier Creek Estates Winery
Hillier Creek Estates features three types of grapes grown on their 10-acre vineyard: Gamay, Vidal, and Baco Noir grapes.
The Gamay grape
Is well known for producing light-bodied red wines that are fruity and easy to drink, perfect for those who prefer a low alcohol content with plenty of flavors.
Growing Gamay grapes in Prince Edward County is becoming more popular in the Hillier area and the Hillier Creek Estates Winery has figured this out too.
The Vidal grape
Produces full-bodied white wines that are slightly sweet with notes of honey and tropical fruit.
Finally, Baco Noir
This is a hybrid grape that creates medium-bodied red wines with dark berry flavors and soft tannins.
The winery has dozens of different wines from reds to whites to rosés and sparkling.
No matter which type of wine you prefer, there’s something here for everyone!
