Why We like The Cider Company

Quick Fact: County Cider Company has been producing hard cider in Prince Edward County for over 20 Years.

Located out in Waupoos Ontario at 657 Bongards Crossroad.

I feel they are popular because of the cider…yes! BUT they offer award-winning ciders and if you taste some you’ll see why.

The apples are grown on their own family farm and from local orchards in Prince Edward County. 

There are 16 different types of apples used to make about 350,000 litres of the County Cider. To see list of apples visit their website HERE.

We live close by, just down the road actually, and we visit often throughout the year. It’s a busy place in the summer months as many people coming to the County want to go and taste some really amazing ciders.

You can find some of the most popular ciders at the LCBO but you cannot enjoy the view offered at the cider Company. It’s worth a visit.

Most Popular ciders are the County Apple Cider and The Waupoos Premium cider.

Personally I really enjoy the County Pear cider. It has just enough sweetness…just enough sour and the delicious pear taste. If we go there for lunch then that’s what I’m ordering.

Many people talk great things about The County Feral cider. I say you’ll have to go there to try it out for yourself.

They do offer tastings and flight so you can sample them properly.

Below is just a section of the menu. They do offer appetizers but I always like to cut to the chase as I’m after the Mains!

I have tried the Wood Fire Pizza and it’s good. BUT…nothing compares to the “Grant Burger”.

If you haven’t watched the video above you should because I order the Grant burger and you will see why it’s so amazing.

The next thing on the County Cider menu that I order is the Wood Fire Chicken Wrap. Delicious!!

The patio seating area has a really amazing view of Long Point out in Lake Ontario. Out in the distance reaches of Prince Edward County.

Quick Fact: The patio area Picnic tables are a pet friendly zone provided your pets are on a leash at all times.

Note… they do not take reservations so I recommend to always to go early in the day when it’s not so busy.

You can take your left overs home but they do not offer any ‘take-out’ orders.

The owner and the staff are really cool. Be sure to pop into the store where you can buy some County Cider merchandise.

They have all the ciders they make available in the shop. Also they offer other local goods as well.
