Clafeld Cider House & Market in Waupoos

As an avid traveler and foodie, I’m always on the lookout for hidden gems that offer a unique experience. That’s why I was thrilled to visit Clafeld Cider House & Market during my recent trip to Prince Edward County.

Located in Waupoos, this charming cider house is surrounded by orchards, vineyards, and breathtaking views of Lake Ontario.

I couldn’t wait to taste their famous ciders and explore their market filled with local produce, crafts, and goodies.

Main Features

  • Petting Zoo
  • Part of the Waupoos Winery
  • Outside seating
  • A Market with local goods including apple pies, apple turnovers, and caramel apples.
  • Made with 100% county apples
  • Variety of ciders, including apple, pear, and peach ciders.

Upon arriving at Clafeld Cider House & Market, I was immediately struck by the beauty of the surroundings.

The orchards were in full bloom, and the aroma of apples filled the air. The market was bustling with visitors trying samples of cider, honey, and other local treats.

The friendly staff welcomed me and offered a tasting of their signature ciders. I tried several, but my favorite was the Elderflower Cider.

It had a refreshing taste with a subtle floral note that complemented the sweetness of the cider.

After indulging in a few ciders, I wandered around the market to see what other treasures they had to offer.

They Have Snacks

There were fresh veggies, artisanal cheese, homemade jams, and beautiful crafts made by local artists.

I even treated myself to a pint of homemade ice cream topped with apple crisp – a delicious and indulgent treat that was impossible to resist.

Oh Yeah…The caramel apples are made with a blend of Granny Smith, Honeycrisp, and Red Delicious apples.

As I continued to explore the property, I learned more about Clafeld Cider House & Market’s commitment to sustainability.

They prioritize using locally sourced ingredients and limit waste by giving the apple pomace (leftover bits from apple processing) to local farmers to use as animal feed.

In addition, they use solar panels to power their facilities, and their cider bottles are reusable, reducing the environmental impact.
