The Millennium Trail is part of the Trans Canada Trail network and connects with the Bay of Quinte West Rail Trail.

The Long Bicycle Trails of Prince Edward County

Cressy Loop Bike Trail

Cressy Loop is a 60 Km bike trail that passes through some of the most scenic areas in Prince Edward County.

The trail is mainly on county roads 8, 7 and 33 and relatively flat, making it ideal for both beginner and experienced cyclists.

Along the way, riders will enjoy views of farmland, forests, rock cuts, wineries, and great views of Lake Ontario.

Hot tip for bikers: Schoolhouse 77 on highway 7 offers a bike rack and free use their tire pump and basic bike repair tools. This is a dog friendly area with picnic tables and free water bottle refills.

As you ride through Waupoos there are some great little spots to eat.  There are also a few short side road trails that offer more challenging riding for those who are looking for a workout.

You can expect to see the Glenora Ferry, Lake on the Mountain Provincial Park, The Miller House that overlooks Adolphus Reach and the ferry dock.

As the path continues, you’ll pass by Cressy, a few great wineries, The County Cider company, Cressy Mustard company.

Western Wine Route Bike Trail

The region is also known for its scenic beauty, with rolling hills and picturesque vineyards including, Keint-He, By Chadsey’s Cairns, Sandbanks Winery, Rosehall Run, Casa Dea Winery, Domaine Darius, Sugarbush.

Big Island Route Bike Trail

The Big Island Route is a very scenic biking route located in norther area of Prince Edward County. The route is approximately 60 kilometers long and takes more than a few hours to complete.

Although some of the route take on county road #5 and #15 big Island has much less traffic. This bike ride winds its way through the picturesque countryside, passing by farms, forests.

As part of this same bike route The Green Point Route, travels further into Sophiasburgh and Fish lake.

Along the way, there are several places of interest where visitors can stop and explore like Three dog Winery in Fish lake and the North Shore of Big Island.

Big Island Route is a great way to experience the natural beauty of the county without heavy traffic.

Lakeside Route Bike Trail

Not really sure why this bike trail is called the Lakeside Route as it really doesn’t run close to Lake Ontario at all.

It’s basically the back roads of Hiller and Wellington where you will pass by some great wineries.

Some popular stops to make will be, Hinterland Winery, Closson Chase, Lacey Estates, Gravel Hill, Broken Stone, Old Third, Hillier Creek, Harwood, and Redtail Winery.

Don’t forget to stop by SHED Chetwyn Farms for a pair of luxury Alpaca socks or other amazing Alpaca goods.

While in the area another popular stop is the Lavender Farm so take lots of pictures.

Park Route Bike Trail

Park Route is a Prince Edward County bike trail that spans 100km. This bicycler route connects with other cycle trails in the area to create a large network of trails for cyclists to enjoy.

Basically, the Park Route is made up of two loops, one 30km loop and one 70km loop.

The 30km loop is suitable for beginner cyclists, that takes you out past the Sandbanks Provincial Park.

The 70km loop is perfect for more experienced cyclists. This section of the Park Route takes you up past the old Picton Camp then out to Black Creek as you make your way through Milford all the way to the Sandbanks in West Lake.

This route is a great way to see everything that Prince Edward County has to offer. From scenic views of Lake Ontario to historic sites and charming villages, Park Route has something for everyone.

South Shore Route

This is a very long bicycle trail that takes you out to Point Traverse down county road #13.

You will get to see some very amazing scenery if you stop into Little Bluff Conservation area.

The area is known for its dramatic cliffs, which provide stunning views of Lake Ontario. Little Bluff is home to a diverse array of plant and animal life, and it is a popular destination for hikers, birdwatchers, and nature lovers.

The Prince Edward Point Bird Observatory is a world-renowned bird research station.

Although the need for a bird observatory was first realized in the early 1900s, the Prince Edward Point Bird Observatory wasn’t officially established until 1957.

Since then, it has become an important stop for migrating birds, as well as a popular destination for birders from all over the world.

On the way stop by some art galleries and Half Moon Bay Winery the folks there are very welcoming.
