Why I Choose The County Canteen Menu

If you’re looking for a Picton restaurant with a great menu then you may want to consider trying out The County Canteen menu.

We actually visit the County Canteen on a regular basis because of the chill vibe, family-friendly restaurant, tasty food, and a steady stream of booze options.

About The Menu

First of they now offer a breakfast menu and the regular menu, with lots of great options

It wasn’t until recently that I discovered the wonder that is County Canteen, and boy, let me tell you it gets busy during the summer for good reason.

Located in Picton’s centre, this pub-style bar and restaurant have some great craft beer, live music, and a table inside or out.

The Restaurants Food

The Breakfast is Awesome and it’s just new to the canteen so they are trying hard to make it great and they have.

The Omelet and Homefries

My go-to here is the Walts burger and fries! A big juicy homemade patty made with Ontario’s finest beef that’s raised locally.

Other great options we have tried are the fish tacos, too fat to fly chicken burger, nachos, and just about every beer they have on tap.

If you’re looking for healthy options they have some gluten-free options as well.

When it comes to food, County Canteen did not disappoint. They had gluten-free options that were just as delicious as anything else on the menu.

As I perused through the menu, I was thrilled to realize that they had a HUGE local craft beer menu that had local and international craft taps, which changed regularly.

Their wine list was just as impressive and featured a great selection of local wines that gave me the perfect opportunity to try something new.

A Little Hint!

In the off-season, you do not need a reservation but if you’re looking to have dinner through the summer months I’d recommend calling in reservations.

Such a Cool Vibe

Before walking into County Canteen, I already knew I was in for a great experience. For starters, the place looked really cool.

The interiors had a rustic industrial vibe with high ceilings, exposed brick, and some art pieces that added a pop of color to the space.

About The Service

What I loved the most about County Canteen was their attention to detail in terms of service.

The staff were knowledgeable about their drinks and paired food recommendations if needed.

It felt like they genuinely loved their job and truly cared about customers’ overall experience. As an added bonus, their prices were very reasonable, and a perfect spot to enjoy happy hour with friends after work.

As someone who enjoys trying new things, I loved that County Canteen was always offering something new with its specials.

I discovered new local wines that I’d never heard of before and some craft beers that were unlike anything I’d tasted. The variety of options undoubtedly kept everyone’s palates constantly engaged.

Overall, I highly recommend County Canteen in Picton, Ontario for everyone looking for a great spot to hang out with friends, have a drink, and have some good food.
