From the moment I walked through the barn doors, I was transported to a world of bubbles and bliss.

The vineyard, planted with pinot gris, chardonnay, and riesling grapes, creates the perfect sparkling wines.

• Ancestral 2022 Method Ancestral – Local Favorite, lightly sparkling, off-dry, delightfully fruit-forward wine.
• Blanc de Noirs 2018 Method Traditional – 100% Hinterland estate-grown Pinot Noir.
• Les Etoiles 2018 Method Traditional – made from estate-grown Chardonnay and Pinot Noir. Serious, terroir-driven wine.
• Misfit Rosé 2021 (Still Wine) – wild ferment in oak and acacia barrels after a single light pressing of estate Pinot Noir, grown in Hillier clay-loam soil. 
• Whitecap 2021 Method Charmat – Very fruit-forward on the nose and a lovely lingering acidity on the finish.
• Borealis 2021 Method Charmat – persistent bubbles lead to a long, fresh, mineral finish.
• Fizzle Pet-Nat – nice spritz on the palate, biscuity aromatics, and a peachy rosé hue.
• Rosé 2016 Method Traditional – Very ripe fruity flavors, ripe Raspberry with a big acidity, balanced, length on the palate.
• Cherry Cider – dominant cherry tones on nose and palate, full mid-palate, finishes dry. Very delicious!
• Rosé 2021 Still Wine – wild ferment in oak and acacia barrels after a single light pressing of estate Pinot Noir, grown in Hillier clay-loam soil.

From the moment I walked into Hinterland, I knew I was in for a treat.

The friendly staff welcomed me with open arms and a glass of their signature wine, and I was immediately struck by the laid-back, fun atmosphere of the place.

The tasting room was filled with laughter and lively conversation, and it was clear that everyone was having a great time.

Hinterland is a family-run winery, and the passion for making wine is evident in every bottle.

Vicki Samaras, trained in the art of winemaking, has left her mark on the winery, and it shows.

Vicki’s partner, Jonas Newman, has now taken the reins and is focused exclusively on producing the finest sparkling wines in Canada.

Wine Tasting with a Twist

The wine tasting at Hinterland was unlike any other I’ve experienced.

Instead of the usual stuffy, formal atmosphere, the staff encouraged us to let our hair down and have a good time.

We tasted several of their wines, each one more delicious than the last, and the staff kept us entertained with funny stories and jokes.

One of my favorite moments was when the wine pourer said, “This next wine is so good, it’ll make you want to slap your grandma.”

Of course, we all looked at each other in disbelief, but after taking a sip, we all burst out laughing and agreed that it was indeed a fantastic wine.

The wine tasting at Hinterland was an experience like no other.

The staff was friendly, knowledgeable, and eager to share their love of wine with us.

As we sipped on our sparkling wines, they regaled us with stories of their experiences creating the bubbles in our glasses.

One of my favorite moments was when the staff asked us to compare Hinterland’s sparkling wine to the mass-produced wines found in the LCBO stores.

The difference was astonishing, and it was clear that Hinterland’s sparkling wines were a cut above the rest.

The Hinterland Wine Company’s outside patio is a covered area perfect escape for wine connoisseurs and nature lovers alike.

The spacious and dog-friendly patio gives visitors plenty of room to enjoy their favorite bubbly while taking in the beauty of the surrounding area.

The serene atmosphere combined with comfortable seating makes Hinterland’s patio an ideal spot to kick back and relax.

The patio even has tables that are perfect for gathering friends or family together for an afternoon and evening of great company, delicious wines, and amazing views.

Where Sparkling Wine Meets Art

One of the things that impressed me most about Hinterland was its wide variety of wines. From dry to sweet, and everything in between, there was a wine for every palate.

I particularly enjoyed their Ancestral Rosé sparkling wine, which was light and refreshing, perfect for a hot summer day.

The tasting room at Hinterland was not only a feast for the senses, but it was also a feast for the eyes.

Beautiful works of art adorned the walls, and the décor was unlike anything I’d ever seen in a winery.

The staff encouraged us to take a stroll through the vineyards, and the view was simply breathtaking.

And for those who aren’t wine drinkers, Hinterland also had a selection of craft beers and ciders.

A Feast for the Senses

Not only was the wine delicious, but the setting at Hinterland is inside a converted dairy barn.

The winery was surrounded by rolling hills and vineyards, and the tasting room was filled with beautiful works of art and décor.

The staff even encouraged us to take a stroll through the vineyards and take in the scenery.
