Today, we’re taking a stroll down to Casa-Dea Estates Winery, a hidden gem nestled in the heart of Wellington, ON.

We attended a wedding and we had time to tour around and do a tasting journey filled with sips, laughs, and of course, grapes.

Buckle up and get ready for a wine-derful time!

From Grapes to Glass at Casa-Dea Winery

Walking into Casa-Dea Winery, you can feel the passion for wine-making in the air.

The vineyard boasts over 25 acres of Chardonnay, Riesling, Pinot Noir, pinot gris, cabernet franc, and other delectable grapes.

I really enjoyed the cabernet franc and the pinot gris both were VQA wines we chose for our tastings

The team at Casa-Dea takes pride in their hands-on approach to wine-making, using traditional techniques to produce unique, high-quality wines.

As we take a tour of the winery, we see the grapes being picked, crushed, fermented and aged with the utmost care.

It’s fascinating to see the transformation of the grapes into the delicious wines that we love to drink. And don’t worry, you’ll have plenty of opportunities to taste the fruits of their labor!

Wine Tasting: A Laugh a Glass

It’s time for the main event – the wine tasting!

The staff at Casa-Dea knows how to make wine tasting a fun and enjoyable experience.

With a keen sense of humor, they take us through a flight of their finest wines, each paired with a witty remark or joke.

We start with the crisp and refreshing Chardonnay, accompanied by a joke about “why did the grape stop in the middle of the vineyard?”

(Answer: “Because it ran out of juice!”).

Next, we try the bold and juicy Pinot Noir, paired with a joke about “why did the tomato turn red?”

(Answer: “Because it saw the wine!”).

And finally, we end with the sweet and delightful Riesling, accompanied by a joke about “why did the scarecrow win an award?”

(Answer: “Because he was outstanding in his field!”).
