Harwood Estate Vineyards & Winery prides itself on producing high-quality wines that are sure to please even the pickiest of palates.

The vineyard’s wines have won multiple awards over the years, including internationally acclaimed wines, as well as several other awards for its other varietals.

The Wine List

• Gamay – My favorite – Light and smooth
• Meritage – Medium body, Long toasted oak finish, smokey with lingering fruit.
• Cabernet Sauvignon – Nice tannins and finishes light
• St. Laurent – medium-bodied red is deep in colour with a long mineral finish.
• Pinot Noir – flavors of red cherry, strawberry, cranberry, soft note of earth lead to a lengthy finish.
• Gewürztraminer – aromatic, high intensity, florals, rose petal, tropical notes of lychee, grapefruit
• Chardonnay – medium + intensity, lemon, lime, green apple, refreshing, very crisp.
• Unoaked Chardonnay – Light and crisp, with refreshing notes of apple, pear, citrus, and stone fruit.
• Pinot Gris – Smooth and easy drinking.
• Windward White – Aromatic, medium intensity, peach, stonefruit, honey, bright citrus.
• Marquesa – Desert Wine – Full-bodied but well-balanced. 

Hardwood Estates Wine Tasting Room

Hardwood Wine Tasting Room located in Prince Edward County offers visitors a truly unique experience.

While we were there we tried the Pinot Gris, the Gamay, and the Cabernet Sauvignon.

The high points were the service and the information about the vineyard and our tastings were free because we took home some wine.

We got to talk to the winemaker who explained the current plantings, and the three vineyards ad also recommended other wineries to visit in the area.

Whether you attend their winery tour or simply spend a day at the vineyard, Hardwood Estates is one of the cool wineries to visit.

They also offer a variety of gastronomic experiences for guests to enjoy.

For example, they offer “Chick Pea Fritters” which with locally sourced ingredients that showcase the region’s unique flavors.

We tried the Chick Pea Fritters which were better than I expected.

They do offer wood fire pizza but we did not try any while we were there.
