History of Base 31

Base 31 was built in 1918 and served as an army drill hall for many years. In 2014, the Drill Hall Arts and Cultural Centre Inc.

(DHACC) was formed with the goal of revitalizing the hall and transforming it into a vibrant community space.

Since then, Base 31 has become home to a wide variety of events and activities, including concerts, dance parties, farmers markets, movie sets, and more.

Prince Edward County was selected as the venue for Base 31 due to its strategic location and suitability for air training purposes.

The expansive land, favorable weather conditions, and access to waterways made it an ideal site for training pilots and personnel.
